MeetTheSocial Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to our website, our events, and any enquiry you make with us.

2. What we collect
- Contact and enquiry details — name, email, phone, company, job title, city, event date, headcount, and anything you write in a message.
- Booking details — the tickets or services you buy, the date you attend, and any access or dietary requirements you tell us about.
- Payment information — handled by our payment providers (Squarespace Commerce, Stripe, PayPal and Klarna). We never see or store your full card details.
- Website usage — pages viewed, referring site and approximate location, via cookies and analytics.
- Event photography — we photograph and film our events. See section 7.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To deliver an event you've booked — necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To answer enquiries and quote for work — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To send event dates and marketing — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To improve the website and our events — our legitimate interest in understanding what works.
- To meet legal and tax obligations — compliance with the law.
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become bookings: [24] months, then deleted.
- Booking and transaction records: 6 years, as required for UK tax purposes.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe, or after [24] months of no engagement.
- Event photography: retained for portfolio use unless you ask us to remove an image.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate — website and commerce (Squarespace), payments (Stripe, PayPal, Klarna), email and analytics.
- Venues and partners, where we need to pass on a guest list, headcount or dietary requirements to run your event.
- Legal or regulatory authorities, where we're required to.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the UK and EEA. Where data is transferred internationally it is protected by UK/EU adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
7. Photography and film at events
We photograph and film our events for our website and social channels. If you'd rather not appear, tell a member of our team on the night or email us afterwards. We'll remove you from anything we haven't published, and take down published images where we reasonably can.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email contact@meetthesocial.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority if you're in the EU.
9. Cookies
We use cookies to run the website, remember your basket and understand how the site is used. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a revised date at the top.
